About This Position
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior WordPress Developer to join our remote team. This role focuses on leading custom WordPress builds, theme development, plugin integration, and performance optimisation. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of SEO best practices and mentoring junior developers.
As a Senior Developer, you will play a pivotal role in project success by providing technical leadership, ensuring high-quality code, and collaborating across departments to deliver seamless digital experiences.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of WordPress development experience.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Advanced knowledge of Git version control.
- Strong expertise in ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), custom post types, and WooCommerce.
- Experience with REST APIs and complex third-party integrations.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Experience mentoring junior developers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of custom WordPress themes and plugins.
- Implement and optimise custom post types, ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), and REST API integrations.
- Ensure performance optimisation and SEO best practices across all projects.
- Collaborate with designers to ensure accurate translation of Figma designs into WordPress websites.
- Integrate and manage WooCommerce for e-commerce projects.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior and intermediate developers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues with existing WordPress sites.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and consistency across projects.
- Stay up to date with the latest WordPress developments and best practices.
