As we grow, we are looking for a passionate, self-motivated Junior Social Media Manager to join our remote team, with the potential to develop into the Head of Social Media.
About This Position
We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Social Media Manager to support our growing social media efforts. In this role, you’ll help shape and amplify the digital presence of multiple brands across various social platforms. You’ll have the chance to work closely with senior marketers and learn from industry experts, with a clear path to advance to a leadership role as the Head of Social Media as you grow in experience and responsibility.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in social media management or digital marketing.
Skills:
Strong understanding of social media platforms, tools, and trends.
Proficiency in using social media management tools (e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social,Metricool).
Basic knowledge of analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights).
Strong copywriting skills with a keen eye for detail.
Creativity, resourcefulness, and an ability to think outside the box to engage audiences.
Traits:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.
Desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
Desired but not required:
Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
Familiarity with digital advertising platforms (e.g., Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads).
Experience working in the digital product launch space, particularly MVPs.
Responsibilities
Content Creation & Curation: Work on / Assist in the creation of compelling social media content (copy, images, videos, and infographics) tailored to each platform’s audience and each brand’s brand voice.
Platform Management: Manage daily posting schedules and ensure consistent, timely updates across all relevant social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.).
Community Engagement: Monitor social media conversations, respond to comments, and engage with the audience to foster a positive online community and strengthen brand relationships.
Analytics & Reporting: Track and report on social media performance using analytics tools, and provide insights to improve future strategies.
Campaign Support: Assist in the execution of paid and organic social media campaigns, ensuring alignment with overall marketing objectives and KPIs.
Trend Monitoring: Stay up to date on social media trends, emerging platforms, and best practices to ensure the company’s approach remains innovative and ahead of the curve.
Collaboration: Work closely with the content, design, and marketing teams to align social media efforts with broader marketing campaigns and product launches.
Working Conditions
Fully remote position with occasional in-person meetings in Cape Town.
Core business hours aligned to the South African and UK markets.
